On September 27th, at the University of Milano Bicocca, approximately 200 participants will be present. The top two winners will have the opportunity to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin.
It’s a genuine international pitch competition aimed at promoting exceptional ideas from the new generation and connecting scientists and entrepreneurs on a global scale. Falling Walls Lab Italy returns for the fifth consecutive year on September 27th, in partnership with MUSA scarl, University of Milano, Bocconi University, University of Bergamo, University of Pavia, PoliHub, Social Innovation Teams, BiM, and Netval. Approximately two hundred participants are already registered for the event.
Participating in the Falling Walls Lab competition is an opportunity to present one’s ideas in a competitive and international context, engaging with other scientists and entrepreneurs using clear and direct language. The only constraint is a maximum of three minutes to complete the presentation.
The international forum was established to stimulate and encourage the proposal of groundbreaking ideas, promoting the exchange and comparison of open, creative minds capable of thinking and developing solutions to everyday problems; ideas with the potential to innovate and provide practical utility in all fields of knowledge and action, from medicine to agriculture, from economics to humanities, and beyond.
The top two winners of the Italian edition will have the opportunity to showcase their project in front of experts from the academic and entrepreneurial worlds of 100 countries by participating in the Falling Walls Conference in Berlino. They will receive round-trip flights to Berlino, accommodations, and tickets to the Falling Walls Science Summit, which annually concludes the Science Week in the German capital.
What will be the next walls to fall? This is the question that students, scientists, and early-career professionals will need to answer with their proposals destined to leave a mark. The Falling Walls Foundation draws its inspiration from the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989, and the dawn of a new era of freedom. The summit takes place every year in the German capital from November 7th to 9th, coinciding with this historic anniversary.
The nonprofit foundation, as stated in its official presentation, promotes innovative thinking and builds a growing network of leaders in science, economics, and the public sector to address major challenges and make innovative ideas accessible to society. Since its inception on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 2009, Falling Walls has become a continuously growing network of the most ambitious and forward-thinking minds from around the world.
Its community is based on exceptional experiences of gathering, learning, and connecting while tackling the planet’s greatest challenges.
