GenerAzioni 2024 Festival: Bicocca in search of urban sustainability

The GenerAzioni Festival returns in 2024 with an edition that focuses on the themes of urban sustainability and the role of the younger generations in imagining and building the future of our cities. Organised by the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, the Festival will take place on 10 and 11 October 2024 in Piazza dell’Ateneo Nuovo with two days of workshops and meetings open to all, with a special focus on secondary school students. The 2024 edition of the Festival will once again be dedicated to MUSA (Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action), the great project that aims to promote innovation for sustainable and inclusive societies, through the active involvement of young people and local realities.

In addition to closed workshops, the Festival offers a series of plenary events open to the public. These moments of exchange will be an opportunity to explore together with researchers and urban sustainability experts the perspectives of a more inclusive and green city. During the two days, the young participants will have the opportunity to meet researchers from the MUSA project and discuss with them some of the most topical challenges related to urban sustainability. The workshops, moderated by the B-YOUth Forum boys and girls, will provide a space for reflection on key topics such as:

• What kind of city would we like to inhabit in the future?
• Can the redevelopment of public spaces stimulate the protagonism of the younger generations?
• Can mobility be green?
• Can the city be a place for sustainable and inclusive living and economic growth?
• What is the relationship between the city and gender?

These questions will guide the dialogue, prompting participants to imagine innovative solutions and reflect on their own role in building the cities of the future.
