For the third series of meetings organised by Human Hall, Fabrizio Gatti and Habibou Camara Peroni talk about the challenges and hopes of migrants to Europe

On 8 November, the third seminar of the cycle ‘Understanding Migrations…. Stories’, an initiative organised by Human Hall, the first scientific hub born within the MUSA project, which focuses on equality and rights and involves 18 teams of excellence including professors, researchers, PhD students. Computer scientists, linguists and jurists. The meeting will offer a profound and human look at the journeys of migrants and their path to inclusion in our country. Organised by Professor Filippo Rossi, lecturer in Medieval and Modern Law, and Dr. Marco Castelli, research fellow, the event will be enriched by significant speeches that focus on the direct experiences of the protagonists of these stories.

One of the main guests will be Fabrizio Gatti, journalist and writer, known for his investigative journey from Africa to Europe. Gatti infiltrated migrants for four years, experiencing first-hand the dangers and difficulties of the journey. His journey took him across the Téneré desert, from Senegal to the border between Niger and Libya, and then to Italy. Here he continued his undercover work among labourers recruited illegally in the countryside of southern Italy. Gatti will tell us the stories of those who, in search of a better life, face immense dangers in the hope of finding a new home in Europe.

Accompanying Gatti will be Habibou Camara Peroni, a migrant and now a librarian in Brescia, who will share his personal experience of travelling and integrating in Italy. His testimony represents not only the tale of a difficult journey, but also a story of success and inclusion.
