At Milano Luiss Hub, a full day of meetings, innovation and connections to redesign the fashion sector with a sustainable approach, thanks to the synergy between businesses, universities and institutions

The event Sustainable, Circular Fashion & Design – Creating Local Value took place in Milan in recent days, attracting a large and engaged audience and bringing together experts, entrepreneurs, students, and institutional representatives for a full day dedicated to sustainability and innovation.

Inside the Milano Luiss Hub, the program featured a dynamic mix of thematic panels, debates, and matchmaking activities that gave voice to key players from across the production ecosystem—from major companies to startups, and from academia to public stakeholders. The aim was ambitious yet tangible: to chart a shared path toward a fashion system that is more circular, transparent, and locally rooted.

At the heart of the initiative—promoted with the patronage of the City of Milan and the support of the MUSA project and BioEcoGeo—were crucial topics such as supply chain traceability, the use of blockchain and digital product passports to combat counterfeiting, the adoption of sustainable business models, and the increasingly strategic role of education. The participation of Milan’s leading universities—Bicocca, Politecnico, Statale, and Bocconi—highlighted the vital role of knowledge as a driver of transformation for both businesses and local territories.

The event dedicated significant space to networking, which proved to be a key factor in creating new connections and fostering collaborations among companies, young entrepreneurs, and institutional stakeholders. Numerous testimonials and case studies highlighted how circularity can represent not only an ethical value but also a competitive advantage. Special attention was given to younger generations, with sessions specifically designed to engage schools and technical institutes, helping to promote a culture of sustainability from the earliest stages of education.
