€150,000 in prizes for the best entrepreneurial ideas to transform the construction sector through innovation, safety, and sustainability
Applications are now officially open for the first edition of the “Sustainable and Safe Construction” competition, one of the contests promoted within the Startup Days of StartCup Lombardia 2025. Organized by Regione Lombardia in collaboration with MUSA and partner universities, the call is open to all entrepreneurial ideas capable of driving real innovation in the construction sector, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability, safety, and digitalization.
The aim of the competition is to foster the creation of new businesses and innovative startups that can address the concrete needs of the construction industry, also through co-innovation solutions developed in collaboration with established corporate players. Applications are free of charge and open to aspiring entrepreneurs — including students, PhD candidates, researchers, research fellows, scholarship holders, and professors — as well as to already established startups. Proposals can be submitted until September 5, 2025, by selecting the appropriate option in Section 1.2 of the registration form available on the official StartCup website.
Thanks to financial support from Regione Lombardia, the competition offers a total prize pool of €150,000, to be awarded to the six most promising projects selected by an independent jury. The jury will operate with full autonomy, following principles of confidentiality and merit-based assessment. Submissions will be evaluated across six thematic categories that reflect the key challenges of the sector: from Smart, Safe, and Zero-Emission Construction Sites to Predictive Maintenance, Smart Supply Chains and Innovative Materials, Energy Efficiency and Building Renovation, Full Process Digitalization, and New Operational Models for Finance, Training, and Innovation.
