Fostering Sustainable and Circular Practices in the Industry.
On June 13th, R4MILANOECOSYSTEM, a new multi-stakeholder digital platform, was launched with the goal of bringing businesses and citizens closer to sustainable and circular practices in the fashion and design sectors.
The platform, part of the MUSA project, provides concrete tools to address environmental challenges and adopt innovative solutions. Among its key features is an innovative database that compiles sustainable and circular textile materials and processes, facilitating the adoption of responsible practices. The database is organized by fiber type, application, and sustainability criteria, offering companies a practical tool to guide their ethical choices.
Camilla Carrara, research fellow at Bocconi University, highlighted the importance of transparency and traceability in the textile sector, stating that the database represents “a fundamental step forward in fostering integrated sustainability, embracing the entire product lifecycle, from production to recycling.” (See also the video interview with Camilla Carrara).
