Discovering the Bicocca district: a journey through architecture and memory for Milan Arch Week 2024
A walk through Vittorio Gregotti’s Bicocca district and a series of appointments to understand his work using documentation from his archive. The University of Milano-Bicocca, in collaboration with CASVA, thus wanted to make its contribution by participating in Milano Arch Week 2024, the international festival dedicated to architecture and urban transformation, to be held from 21 to 26 May.
The festival is now in its sixth edition with the theme ‘Weak Architecture’. This year it aims to highlight the transformative power of architecture in caring for different realities, giving voice to projects, desires and aspirations that are apparently “weak”, but through architecture find the genesis of change.
The walk will be held on Thursday 23 May from 6 p.m., the appointment is at Piazza dell’Ateneo Nuovo 1, in front of the entrance to the Agora-U6 building, and will be for a maximum of 40 participants. On Tuesday 21 May at 12.30 p.m. there will be a guided tour of the Gregotti Archive, while on Friday 24 May at 5.30 p.m. there will be a talk for the 25th anniversary of the Bicocca district at the Palazzina Liberty in Fabbrica del Vapore.
