€150,000 in prizes for the top six entrepreneurial ideas in the field of innovative and sustainable chemistry. Applications now open for startups, university spin-offs, and innovative SMEs
The second edition of the “Green Chemistry Lombardia for a Sustainable Future” competition is now officially open. Promoted by Regione Lombardia and FEDERATED INNOVATION @MIND as part of the StartCup Days 2025, the initiative targets startups, university spin-offs, and innovative SMEs operating in the field of sustainable chemistry. Its goal is to foster co-innovation between the business world and the innovation ecosystem.
The competition aims to accelerate the ecological transition in the chemical sector by promoting interaction between major Italian industrial groups, companies from user sectors (those that integrate chemistry into their products or processes), and emerging players with promising yet early-stage technologies.
The program is divided into two phases. The first is an expression of interest, aimed at chemical companies and user sector companies (raw materials, basic chemicals, fine and specialty chemicals), and will serve to identify key topics and major technological challenges. This will be followed by the actual challenge, through a call for startups addressed to startups and SMEs established no more than five years ago, as well as university spin-offs.
Up for grabs are six prizes of €25,000 each, for a total of €150,000 made available by Regione Lombardia to support the most innovative, high-impact projects that can effectively meet the needs identified by companies.
