From urban factors research to prevention: data, technologies, and partnerships to rethink health in the cities of the future.
How can we build cities that are not only sustainable, but also capable of helping people live better and longer? This is the question at the heart of the event “Prevention and sustainability: investing today in urban longevity. BEA project results and future perspectives”, scheduled for May 19, 2026, at the Bicocca Pavilion in Milan.
Promoted by the University of Milano-Bicocca and the Fondazione Università Bicocca, the event represents both a moment of scientific dissemination and an opportunity for dialogue between academia, institutions, and industrial partners.
At the core of the event are the results of the BEA – Bicocca Environment & Health project, which explored the relationship between the urban environment and health, with the aim of turning scientific data into practical tools for prevention.
The initiative is structured around four key objectives: sharing research findings with the community, presenting the evolution of the Bicocca cohort into a longitudinal study, introducing advanced technologies for cardiovascular and environmental monitoring, and fostering direct dialogue with companies and stakeholders to develop new projects and co-financing opportunities.
This approach fully aligns with MUSA’s vision: an ecosystem that connects research, innovation, and territory to generate real and scalable impact .
The event will open with institutional remarks from the Rector of the University of Milano-Bicocca, Marco Orlandi, MUSA President Giovanna Iannantuoni, and representatives from the National Research Council (CNR), Regione Lombardia, and ATS Città Metropolitana di Milano.
The morning will conclude with a roundtable discussion on longevity as a driver of economic and social development, fostering dialogue between researchers, companies, and institutional stakeholders.
A networking light lunch will follow, offering an opportunity to strengthen relationships and explore future collaborations.
